Can you believe my blog has been around for a whole year?
It seems like just yesterday I was starting it, but then again sometimes it feels like I have been blogging forever.
I have made some really great friends through blogging and have learned a lot along the way.
For those of you that weren’t around in the very beginning you can read my very first blog post HERE.
I still laugh when I read that!
I guess I will give you all another introduction of myself and my family since some of you are new and since it HAS been a year since I have done so.
My name is Mandee (but everyone calls me Mom, Momma or Mommy.)
My husband and I have been together for almost 14 years and in September we will be married for 11 years. I got pregnant with my first child just 3 months after getting married. I know that seems early, but we really wanted to start a family and were so excited!
We waited another 3 years to have our second child and have been having them every couple of years since. lol! We are now the proud parents of 4 boys (all of their names starting with the letter C) and a baby on the way- due July 21st!
We live in a very small town. As a matter of fact we don’t even have a stoplight in this town. Crazy, right!? We like it that way though. Everyone knows everything about everyone, but everyone watches out for everyone too. It is great!
Our oldest son will be 10 in September and is going into the 5th grade this year…wow, I’m getting OLD!
Our second son is going to be 7 at the end of July and is going into the first grade this year.
Our third son will be 5 at the end of August and will be attending Pre-K this year.
Our youngest (for now) just turned 2 in May and is working on Potty Training…Yay!
We have a little dog named Miley, who LOVES attention and an old cat named Zoey who hates attention. We always have new pets in our house. Boys love catching things and putting them in cages. We have had hamsters, fish, frogs, toads, birds, a mole (not my idea-only lasted 24hrs…poor thing!) I am sure there were others, but for now that is what I can remember. This is not to mention all of the little insects and stuff that they find and try to make homes for.
Oh, and I must say for anyone considering getting hamsters do NOT listen to the sales people when they tell you that you have 2 of the same sex. Also, do NOT put them in a cage together even if they tell you that they need company! Ha ha! We learned the hard way. We put what we thought were 2 male hamsters together in one cage and before we knew it they had multiplied and our little Sam hamster was now a Sammy! We also didn’t know (and this one is very important so be sure to listen carefully…) when you put hamsters together after they have babies the female will get pregnant again within 24 hrs if you don’t take the male out!!!! Yep, that’s right! What the heck!? Crazy female hamsters! So, not only did we have the first batch of hamsters to get rid of, but we had a second batch. Luckily we found out about this before she got pregnant a 3rd time!
We no longer have hamsters.
I am so glad I have been able to share our last year of our lives with you all.
I do hope that you will continue to follow our crazy family and get to know us better as we add to it in the next month.
Thanks so much for being such loyal followers!
Now go back and read my first post!
Ha ha!
