There is no argument that the kitchen is typically the heart of the home. We gather in the kitchen, cook, do homework, talk and entertain guests. 5. New valances/blinds. This isn’t something we often think about when we think about kitchen remodels, but it can make a difference in the look of the kitchen.
6. New countertops. You might even consider painting your existing countertop if you really want to cut costs.
7. New faucets/fixtures.
8. New sink.
9. New Appliances—Or used appliances that are new to you.
10. Paint existing furniture or update your table/chairs, barstools.
11. New Backsplash.
12. Add a new rug under the table and/or in the kitchen area.

If you were to update all of these things at one time the price might be a lot higher than you had anticipated, however if you update one thing at a time and spread the kitchen update out a bit, you will find that it is much easier to afford the kitchen remodel you have been longing for.
