Well I had another doctor’s appointment yesterday.
13 Days LEFT!!!
My doctor has left now and will not be back until the 18th or the 19th, so he is hoping I hold out until then. Given my track record, and the fact that I am not due until the 21st I have a feeling I’ll still be pregnant when he gets back. I will get to go in and see an ob nurse next Wed, and she will check to see if I have made any progress as well. In the meantime there is a great doctor filling in for my doc, so if my baby does decide to come early or cause any problems there is backup.
Last week I was 2cm/50% thinned
This week I was 2cm/60% thinned/-1
I am definitely moving in the right direction, however I just hope it keeps it up so I don’t have to go too much past my due date. The doc says he thinks we will definitely be having another big baby and that he would like to see the baby come earlier than the others have.
My 2nd child was an emergency c-section due to Prolapsed cord (they realized as I was pushing, so we were very very lucky!) The 2 boys that I had afterward were v-bacs (vaginal birth after cesarean.) Our 3rd child came 5 days late, but my water broke on it’s own. He was 9lbs 15oz!!!!
Our 4th child came a week late, however the doc did not want to let me go that late, but my body just wasn’t quite ready until that point. They broke my water, but would not give me pitocin since I had scar tissue that could rupture from having had the c-section. Luckily as soon as they broke my water my contractions kicked in and I labored on my own. (I was 3cm and 60% thinned when they broke my water.)
I am hoping this one comes on it’s own without the aid of the doc. If they break my water and I don’t go into full labor on my own they will do a c-section, and I’m really not looking forward to that. The recovery is that much longer and with 4 boys already I’m not looking forward to a longer recovery!
Oh, and I wanted to mention that the lovely lady in the pic on the left in the OutLast Mommy Party post (below) is my Momma! 🙂
I have several posts typed up and ready for you all so you won’t get bored while I’m away when I’m having the baby. I hope I can keep up, but please stay with me and continue to check back if I fall behind a little.
