Summer may be close to coming to an end, but we aren’t quite ready to hang up our beach towels just yet. Our boys love being outdoors, and a trip to the beach is super fun for the whole family, but I definitely do not like to go unprepared. There was a time in my life (before having children) that I would simply throw on a bathing suit and jump in my car heading towards the beach. Today is much different because I like to be prepared. When you have kids it’s always important to be prepared, no matter where you are going.
Today I’m sharing with you a Look Inside My Beach Bag!
So, what’s in the bag?
Beach Towels
We like to pack 1-2 extra towels just in case they are needed to cover seats in the car or wipe something up. I also prefer packing the large beach towels.
Sunscreen
Make sure your sunscreen is waterproof and at least 30 SPF or higher. We prefer to use 50 SPF.
First Aid Kit
I don’t like to leave home without a first aid kit. I’m always sure to bring band-aids, triple-antibiotic cream, Lavender essential oil (for quick pain relief, cuts and stings or bites), alcohol wipes.
Hydrating Drinks
We are always sure to pack a small cooler full of drinks that will keep us hydrated. We prefer to pack water and Vitamin Water.
Sunglasses
My skin isn’t the only thing I need to protect from the sun. I always make sure we have several pairs of sunglasses packed so we can protect our eyes from the bright sun.
Flip Flops
We all bring our own pair of flip flops to the beach so that we can easily slip our shoes on and off. They are also easy to wash if we need to clean sand or dirt off.
Wet Wipes
I typically pack a container of baby wet wipes. These come in handy when kids are eating snacks and also are great for wiping sand off of feet and hands.
Swim Cover Up
I’m the only one in my family that wears a cover up, but I like to pack one for the ride home, and also for times when I’m not going to be in the water and might be walking around the beach.
Plastic Bags
It’s inevitable- when you leave the beach you are going to have wet belongings. I like to be prepared by packing plastic bags or wet bags to hold all of the wet belongings during the ride home.
Snacks
When you take kids to the beach (or anywhere really) they are more than likely going to become hungry. I always like to be prepared and have snacks on hand. We enjoy Fisher NUT EXACTLY Snack Bites because they are convenient and delicious! The new Pistachio Popcorn dipped in Dark Chocolate with Pumpkin Seeds that was just launched elusively at Costco retailers in the Midwest is hands down one of my favorite snacks! I also love that they come in a 15 oz package that is resealable, making it super convenient for quick snacking. And, did I mention that there are only 16 calories per snack bite and 0 grams of trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup and no artificial preservatives? That’s right, Fisher Nut Exactly snack bites not only taste great, but you can also feel good about eating them!
Goggles, Beach Toys, Floaties
These are all items that my kiddos enjoy having while at the beach. I like to make sure we have the appropriate beach toys and games so we can make the most of our trip to the beach!
Camera & Cell Phone
This is a given because I never leave home without my cell phone, and I love capturing photos of my family having fun while we are out and about. Beach photos are some of my favorite!
Hat or Hair ties
I don’t know about you, but my hair is a mess when I leave the beach! I prefer to bring hair ties or a hat to manage those wet and wild locks! My boys prefer bringing hats to keep the sun out of their eyes when walking around on the beach.
Once your bag is packed you are ready to head off to the beach for a day of fun!
