My boys are curious about how things are made. They are constantly asking the age old question, “But Why?” and they are always questioning where this came from and how that was formed. It is in a child’s nature to question things for that is how they learn.
While it might not always be enjoyable (constantly answering questions) to us as parents, we must always remember what the bible has said:
Train a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. -Proverbs 22:6.
We are always looking for new ways to teach our curious little boys. We recently had the opportunity to review The Action Bible book: The Battle Begins from Family Christian. All opinions expressed in this review are our own, so please check out the book for yourself so that you can form an opinion as well.
My boys were pretty excited when the book arrived (mainly the youngest 3). They love to sit on our laps and listen to us read stories, and I love the quality time with them.
I was impressed at the illustrations of this book, and I could tell my little guys were as well. My boys love action and adventure and the story was told in such a way that they were excited and intrigued. Now, my boys already know the story of creation, however when we were reading this book it was like a who new light was shown on this story. They were able to see it in a way that we haven’t seen when reading the cutesy (my way of saying they were softly illustrated for young children) stories we have read in the past.
I have boys and they like to see things in action. This book definitely gives them the action sort of perspective.
We have since read the books numerous times. Our 4 and 6 year olds ask new questions every time we read the book, which I like. I love that they are getting something new out of it each and every time and I love that they are enjoying it enough to want to hear the story again and again. I believe soon enough they will both have the book memorized enough to read it to me!

This looks llike an excellent way to get kids interested in reeading the Bible. Oftentimes the Bible I think can give kids overload (too much info at once) without teaching the stories or parables in an easy to understand way.

This sounds like a fun way to learn about the Bible. It would make a great addition to my son’s collection. Thank you for sharing!
