Are You Planning a Vacation This Year?

Going on vacation with 4 boys while 9 months pregnant can be, well interesting. No, I’m not 9 months pregnant this year, but I was last year, and now we have 5 boys, one of which is a baby. That didn’t stop us from planning a family vacation though. My husband has traveled quite a bit this year and we felt it was important for us all to get a week away. Little did we know that gas prices were going to sky rocket just before we left for vacation. One more month and a couple of our family members will be staying at our house with our animals while we get in the car and drive 7-8 hours to our destination. I can not wait!

Can you believe that it is almost May already?

Where has the time gone? When I was younger I can remember wishing days would speed up and that birthdays would come faster, and now that I’m older (But not THAT old-I refuse to get OLD, even though my boys insist I am!) and have children I wish time would slow down a bit.I really must start to think about what we are going to pack when we go on vacation. I tend to start planning things out really early. I talk about all that I am going to do and make lists and everything and then when it comes down to actually getting things done, I wait until the very last minute and rush around like crazy. Why do I do this to myself? I do it every year for birthday parties, vacation, everything!

This year I decided that I was going to try to be a little bit more organized while on vacation. Ok, I said I was going to TRY. 5 boys and a crowded vehicle for 7-8 hours is not exactly going to be organized. I can see it already. I did go out online and purchased 4 Jeep brand Back Seat Organizers from CSN stores. Can you believe that they have them marked down to JUST $8.99 right now!? (This really is not an advertisement for them, however I was given a gift certificate from CSN stores a while back in exchange for a post I did for them. I really just am excited about what I used my gift certificate on and wanted to share it with you all.)

I love that these hold sippy cups and water bottles as well as the boys tissues, crayons, small pads of paper and snacks! We have actually been using ours for the past month just for everyday use. It is nice that I can tuck a sippy cup for the baby and a water bottle for my 2 year old in one organizer where the boys can all easily reach them (the 2 year old needs a little help reaching his, but I’m fine with that because I don’t really want him getting everything out all at once, and that is exactly what he would do!)

I am on the lookout for some other great products to take with us on vacation so we can be more organized. What is it that you can not leave without when you are traveling? I would love to hear!
