When we first started using ABCmouse.com I couldn’t wait to try it out, but then we got busy and I kept putting it off. Now I’m asking myself, WHY did I do that!? My 4 year old and 6 year old boys love playing (and yes, they think they are playing, they don’t even realize it’s “school”) on ABCmouse.com!
I want to take a moment to explain to you just exactly what ABCmouse.com is and why it’s something you should consider for your children.
ABCmouse.com is full online curriculum Preschool through Kindergarten. There is a Step-by-Step learning path with 6 levels (over 450 lessons!) Your child moves on to the next level once he/she has completed the first levels. They are even rewarded for completing levels (children love rewards! Hey, don’t we all!?) Children are rewarded with tickets. Tickets can be used to purchase virtual items on the site such as new fish for the classroom tank or avatar accessories. This is a fun part of the learning and children really seem to enjoy purchasing these bonus items!
The lessons consist of books, puzzles, games, songs, art activities and/or printables that relate to each specific topic. There are so many different fun learning experiences for your child to learn!
There is a parent’s section with a Lesson Builder so that you can guide your child’s education progress by selecting activities that you feel are best for your child. No one knows your child better than you do, and ABCmouse is great about incorporating parents and allowing them to make decisions and help with their child’s learning experience.
There is also a cool progress tracker where parents can go to keep track of the total number of learning activities completed in each category (books, songs, puzzles, games and art).
