Now that my kitchen is together (mostly) I have been baking every day! I love Fall and I love baking! You’ll be seeing more of those reviews/giveaways of products to make you look slimmer soon…he he!
Tonight we made Chocolate Chip Cookies. The recipe said that they were the “Best Cookies Ever!” I was really excited to make them, but they turned out all flat and weird looking. They didn’t taste that bad, but I have had better.
On Monday we made Apple Crisp. It tasted really yummy, but I was hoping to have the top actually a little crispy. If anyone has a good Apple Crisp recipe with a good crispy top I would love it!
If that didn’t make you hungry I have a yummy kid friendly recipe to share with you all.
Yesterday my 5 year old wanted to help out in the kitchen, so we got the boys’ little cook book out and we prepared a yummy little recipe that doesn’t require any cooking-nope, NO cooking!
In the book these were called “There’s a Mouse in the House” and they were shaped in balls with little eyes made of red hots, ears made of slivered almonds and the tail was red shoestring licerice. We didn’t have all of these items, so we just made ours like brownies in a pan and cut them and then sprinkled them with icing sugar.
STEP 1:
Put the following in an 8 cup bowl and stir with spoon.
1/3 cup White Sugar
1/3 cup of Butter
STEP 2:
Add the following to the 8 cup bowl and stir well.
1 Tbsp Cocoa
1 Tsp Cocoa
1/4 Tsp Vanilla
1 Tsp Water
1 Cup Rolled Oats
STEP 3:
Place in a square pan and then sprinkle with icing sugar and place in the refrigerator or freezer to chill.
(One of my helpers, my 2 year old. When asked if he got into the brownies, he said NO!)

You all know I have to throw in a story about my boys.
They are always either making me laugh or making me gasp!
The other day I walked into the bedroom and the older 2 boys had a hanger on the back of the 5 year old’s underpants and they were trying to “wedgie bounce” him! If you have seen iCarly then you know exactly what I am talking about, but if not it is exactly what I say, big hook to back of underwear and they bounce him from the hook hanging from the ceiling. The boys were trying to lift their 5 year old brother off of the side of the bed and onto the floor and back up with a hanger that was in the back of his underwear. Needless to say they didn’t exactly bounce him, they did give him a wedgie, and I did have to throw out a pair of perfectly good underpants that now had holes in them.
Crazy Boys!

I got my results back from my biopsy yesterday.
Thank you all so very much for your thoughts and prayers.
Thankfully everything came back fine and there is no cancer there.
I go back in 6 months for a follow up and ultrasound to be sure things haven’t changed or grown any.
I am so relieved that I do not need another surgery right now.
More to Come on Raising My 5 Sons….
