If your children are anything like mine, then they enjoy playing video games. In fact, if I were to allow it I think my children (at least a couple of them) would live and breathe video games. I’m okay with a little gaming, however many of the games that are sold in stores these days are often not what I want my children seeing and participating in. Do you agree?
When I first heard about A Better World games I was surprised and impressed! Why hadn’t someone come up with something like this sooner?
What is A Better World?
A Better World has created uplifting games and apps to Brighten the World. Makers of A Better World are parents themselves, so they understand the need for “better” gaming for kids. They saw the need and decided to make a game that brings out the best in kids, helping them shape into positive people and ultimately making the world a better place. They say that their goal is to create and alternative to violent and time-wasting games. They want to use immersive, imaginative and interactive aspects of gameplay to help kids learn important values and good happiness habits while having great fun!
The game is really cool too!
Kids are able to create their own avatars that live in the virtual community, the BetterWorldians Neighborhood. They can interact with other kids, get jobs and help make the world a better place. The job your child chooses is based on something they already know and love, such as cooking, driving, building, puzzles and more. Just imagine your child playing a game that teaches them life skills such as learning to cook healthy, sorting recycling and solving word games with positive themes.
Yeah, I’m just a little excited!
Kids are rewarded for positive attitudes and actions and they can use their rewards in the game! They can decorate their home and visit friends as well as dress up in fun costumes and clothing. Has your child been wanting a pet? They can have a virtual pet in their game that they will learn to take care of and play with! It’s all just so cool! The more good deeds they do, the faster and further they will progress in the game!
I feel like this game is perfect for my children and I’m excited about the life lessons and values that they will be learning from…ahem, a video game! I said it…my kids will be learning valuable life lessons from a video game!
The game doesn’t stop “IN” the game though. Kids are asked to do good in the game and in the real world. Kids can also share and be rewarded in the game for their real world good that they have done. This is where I started to get real excited when I was being told about the game! This video game isn’t just about sitting and playing online, they actually want your children to go out into the world and do good. Parents, you can even put real chores for your kids to do and they can earn do-good gold in the game for doing them! Ha! Now everyone is happy!
If you are as excited about this new game as we are then we encourage you to help fund the A Better World Kickstarter. Even if it’s just $10, every little bit counts and we can all rest in knowing that we are helping to teach our children positivity and good deeds.
A Better World for Kids has promised to pledge 10% of its post-campaign net profits to charities that help children. The company will support a new charity every two months and work with these charities to make the real world a better place for kids.
