We made grilled chicken salads last week. Yes, WE, the boys love to help out in the kitchen, and I love the bonding time with them. About halfway through, and before I had the salad tossed, the boys ran off to the other room (something else had drawn their attention and they had to run off.) When I had all of their plates ready and sitting on the table I called them into the room. I look over and my 7 and 5 year old are looking down at their plates with a look of disgust or confusion. I wasn’t really sure what was going through their little minds until one of them spoke up and said, “Um, Mom, there are leaves in my salad!” The other chimed in, “You are joking, right? You are funny Mom, nice trick!” Really boys, no joke, eat up. Then I hear, “ReAlLy???”
But we used Fat FREE Mom!
The boys wanted a snack, and when I asked what they would like they decided they would like some pretzels and pretzel dip. We have been making this yummy, addicting pretzel dip for years now. All you do is mix mayonnaise and mustard. It sounds yucky, but is really quite yummy.
As I was saying…The boys get the mayonnaise and mustard out and they help me mix the dip real quick. They then ask me to try their yummy dip. I take a tiny bit and then they want me to come to their restaurant and eat more. I tell them that Mommy isn’t really wanting dip right now, and my 5 year old says, “What Mom, isn’t it on your diet?” I said, not exactly, and he says, “But we used Fat Free!” God love them!
