This sponsored post comes at a time when my family is in need of medical help. You see, my 2 year old nephew was admitted to the hospital with an infection that lead to his kidneys shutting down. He is currently in the ICU with both parents by his side. It’s hard for parents to leave their child when they know they need them the most, but what do they do to pay the bills and cover all of the medical expenses that come along with the care they need to receive to survive?
Children’s Medical Grants Are Now Available From The UnitedHealthCare Children’s Foundation
What is a grant?
Grants are funds that are distributed by one party to another that are not repayable. The grants I am speaking of help families pay for children’s medical expenses not covered, or not fully covered, by a commercial health insurance plan.
Did you know that more than 5,000 children’s medical grants have been awarded since 2006?
It’s really worth looking into. Apply online at: www.uhccf.org
Is your family in need of financial assistance to help pay for your child’s health care treatments, services or equipment that is not fully covered by your health insurance plan? If so, the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) is looking for YOU!
Families that qualify can receive up to $5,000 per grant to help pay for their medical services and equipment. Some of the things covered include: physical, occupational and speech therapy, counseling services, surgeries, prescriptions, wheelchairs, orthotics, eyeglasses and hearing aids.
Families do need to meet economic guidelines to be eligible for a grant. Children must be 16 years of age or younger, and you must reside in the United States and have a commercial health insurance plan. These grants will be available for medical expenses that families incurred 60 days prior to the date of application as well as for ongoing and future medal needs.
Parents or legal guardians can apply for grants online at: www.uhccf.org, and there is no application deadline.
We want to note that if you or an organization you know would like to make a donation they are tax-deductible and can be done at: www.uhccf.org.
Donations are used for grants to help children and families in the region in which they are received.

That is a awesome thing, people really should think more about helping the parents expenses, people often forget about it. My friends son had cancer, and she missed a lot of work and almost lost her apartment due to it. But, like you said, who wants to leave their child’s side when they are sick?
