The church is smiling…

Kids can be so funny sometimes. I am always wondering how their little minds work and how they come up with some of the things they do. I really do think they are always thinking and their little minds are always turning when they are young. It’s great!
The other day we are driving home from school and this is a conversation I had with my preschooler…
4 year old: “Mom, I can see the church so I know we are getting close to our house.”
Me: “Yes, that does mean we are getting close, you are right!”
4 year old: “It looks like our church is smiling today. Don’t you think Mom?”
Me: “Well, I’m not sure what you mean by that, but I bet our church is smiling buddy.”
A couple of days later we are driving to town and it was really windy out. As soon as we pulled out of the driveway he says…
4 year old: “Mom, it’s a good thing we have a brick house!”
Me: “Yeah, it is nice having a brick house.”
4 year old: “Yeah, but since our house is brick the Big Bad Wolf can’t blow it down.”
Me: “You know the Big Bad Wolf isn’t real though right? It is just a character in a book. You know this, right?”
4 year old: He sighs and like I should know this already says…”Mom, a tornado! You know, the Big Bad Wolf!”
He’s so silly, but he does make sense. I guess he has named tornadoes as The Big Bad Wolf.
I have a crazy couple of weeks coming up. We are supposed to have my 6 year old’s 2nd ball game tonight, but it has been raining for the last couple of days, so I’m not sure they will have it. However, they did still have their game in the rain last week, so we shall see.
Tomorrow is full of doctor’s appointments and school functions. Plus, hubby has to work late tomorrow night. He just got home last night from a business trip. Luckily it wasn’t a long one and he was just gone overnight. However, he is supposed to leave a couple of days before our vacation and will be coming home the NIGHT before we leave for vacation and we have plans to leave very early in the morning the next morning. I sure hope it works out!
I can’t believe my youngest is going to be turning 2 on Thursday! He is doing so much now and is getting so big so fast! We are having a little birthday party for him on Saturday. He is excited although I don’t think he really knows what a party is yet.
More to come on Raising My 4 Sons…
