We are trying to eat healthier and so we have been cooking a lot of our food outdoor on the grill. I have been a little bummed at the thought of the cold weather that is to come because neither my husband nor myself like to stand out in the cold to cook on the grill. We recently received a free T-fal OptiGrill to review. I was pretty excited to try this new product out.

What is the T-fal OptiGrill?

It is the first and only indoor grill with Precision Grilling Technology, which will detect the quantity, temperature and thickness of your items and alert you when it is at cooking stage (rare, medium or well done). Gone are the days of cutting into the meat to see if it is done! To be honest, I love this feature because I’m always worried that I’m not cooking my meat all the way through—I’m a little obsessed by it, therefore having this peace of mind is going to be such a great addition to my kitchen. When you are ready to cook your food you simply select one of the preset cooking programs on the grill. The selections are…Burgers, Poultry, Sandwiches/Paninis, Sausage/Pork, Red Meat, Fish/Seafood, and manual which is great for veggies.

Another feature that makes my life so much easier—and makes me super happy, is the defrost option. You can defrost meat quickly and grill frozen meat, buns or anything else you may have had stored in the freezer.

The whole point in grilling is to keep our food low fat and healthy, therefore we want to get rid of as much grease as possible. The OptiGrill has tilted plates so the fat and grease can flow down and be caught in the basin. The plates are also removable, which means that I don’t have to sit and scrub the front of the grill (we used to have one like this—such a pain!) You can remove the plates and place them in the dishwasher (Hallelujah!)
