The boys and I were really excited when Creativity for Kids contacted us and asked us to review another of their kids craft sets. If you remember, not long ago we were sent the Monster Banks, which we had so much fun painting and decorating! Doing crafts is one of our favorite things to sit down and do as a family! The boys are always doing creative little things on their own, but when they have an actual kit boy does it get fun!
The kit we received was a Halloween Fun Shrinky Dink Kit. Now I have heard many people talk about Shrinky Dinks, but to be quite honest I had no idea what a Shrinky Dink was until we received the kit. When we opened the package it appeared quite small and the boys were a little disappointed. The disappointment didn’t last long though once we realized how much fun Shrinky Dinks are to make!
For those of you that don’t know what Shrinky Dinks are…
We were given little films with halloween related items on them to color with colored pencils. Once we were done coloring them we cut them all out and punched a hole in the top of them with a little hole punch that was provided in the kit. We pre-heated the oven and then placed the little films on the pan in the oven for a few minutes. When the pieces were done they had actually shrunk and turned into a plastic like material. We then put the little hooks on them and hung them on the little felt tree that was provided. It was a ton of fun for the boys as well as myself!
