I’m sure by now most of you have heard our exciting news…We are expecting our 5th child! I posted a pic and then left you all sort of hanging about the details. I did get some emails and tried to respond to everyone. Please forgive me if I missed you! So today I’m going to fill you all in a little more…
For starters we were actually very pleasantly surprised to find that we were expecting again. We had actually tossed around the idea of having another baby and were even thinking maybe this summer when our little guy turns 2 we could start trying again. I think there were definitely other plans in our future though! While this baby wasn’t as planned out as our other children he/she is still a very Happy surprise for our family! The boys are super excited about having another baby in the family! We have asked each boy if he thinks the baby will be a boy or a girl and all but our youngest (he’s only 19 months and doesn’t understand) have said that they think it’s a girl. I’m not buying it though! I think we are about to get our little “all boy” basketball team! We will be more than happy with either sex (boy or girl.) We have never prayed for one or the other, and have always just prayed for a healthy baby. After raising 4 boys I’m not sure what I would do with a girl! ha ha! Although, I’m sure it wouldn’t take me long to figure out if we are blessed with a girl.
We have had 2 ultra sounds now. I had some spotting off and on during a couple of my pregnancies, but this time I had a little cramping with it, and the spotting was bright red, so I went to the doc. They set me up with an ultra sound which showed the baby is JUST FINE! The baby was measuring to be due around July 19, which is not far off what my doc had suspecting going by my menstrual cycle. Now, I have NEVER had any of my children on time. They are all close to a week late usually and only one was born with my water being broke at home on it’s own. All of my children were pretty good sized babies as well and seem to continue to get bigger. (My oldest was 8lbs 13.8oz, 2nd child was 8lbs 11oz, 3rd child was 9lbs 15oz. and 4th child was 9lbs 5oz.) My doctor has decided to set my due date at the date he originally gave me of July 21st. Let’s hope I don’t go too late because My second child’s birthday is July 29th!
I have battled really horrible morning sickness (all day sickness) with all of my pregnancies. It never seems to go away, but does ease up some further into my pregnancy. I have been dealing with this quite a bit lately and have had a hard time getting things done around here. We actually had to miss one of our Thanksgiving gatherings due to me being sick as well as a couple of our Christmas gatherings. It is very frustrating for me because I just want to feel well so I can take care of my Mommy duties as well as play with my kids! If anyone has ANY advice on morning sickness I would GREATLY appreciate it! I am currently taking Zofran, which seems to be helping a little, but I’m still getting pretty sick with it. I have my days! I have tried just about everything I can think of with all of my pregnancies, but am always open to new ideas! Please throw them at me!
