I want to be held accountable for my actions. I mean, I expect my children to be held accountable for their actions, why shouldn’t I have to follow the same rules? I’ve continued to say over and over that I would become healthier and I would lose weight, but then I would fail.
Why did I keep failing?
It wasn’t until recently I realized that I HAD to do this. I HAVE to make changes in my life and it was after a doctor looked me in the eye and very sternly (yet lovingly, because I know she cared and meant well), told me that if I didn’t make these changes I was only going to start feeling worse and worse.
She was right, and that is why I have started a challenge. It’s one I found online. It has nothing to do with diet pills, shakes, meal replacements or anything. Nope, it’s a whole lot of eating and a little bit of exercising. If you’ve been following me long, you might remember the weight loss challenge (<—–click link to read about it) I did a few years ago. I lost 35lbs on that challenge, however eating shakes and meal bars started to get boring and I gained the weight back—plus some. (Insert sad face).
Because I know you’re probably dying to know what I’m doing, I’ll share that in a bit, but first I want to explain how it’s going and how I feel.
I’m only a week in, but I feel like the first week is the hardest and once you get past those first 2 weeks you really are changing your life—for the better.
In my first week I feel…
Less Stressed, Less Headaches, Less aches/pains, more energy, more confident, less hungry (surprisingly), less depressed, less anxiety (that sort of goes with the stress), less moody….I could go on, but I think you get it. Just one week in and I’m feeling SO much better!
Did I mention that my heartburn and indigestion have taken a hike this week as well? I’ve suffered with this for over a year and after one week I’ve not yet experienced these symptoms….WHAT!?
If you don’t think that dieting and exercise are for you, think about all of the great health benefits and how much better you will feel.
Now, since I know you are dying to know what challenge I am doing, I’ll share. I’m doing the 30 Day Challenge over at Robin’s Sweet Confessions. I love that she has gone into such detail and made this easy for even a busy Mom like myself! Now, I don’t know Robin, and I simply stumbled across her site while searching for healthier recipes, but I’m thinking I should send her a Thank-You note!
What are you waiting for? Don’t watch the scale rise!
I’d love to hear about your challenges in the comments below. We can do this together! I’ll continue to post updates as I go—feel free to comment with yours!
More to Come…

I know what you mean about losing weight and then gaining it back! I have like three different sizes of clothes!
But I did do really good when I was in a challenged bet with my dieting friends.
That really motivated me. Thank you for sharing your experiences! Pinned
