What am I talking about?
You know what I’m talking about. C’mon, you’ve been hiding that silly elf all over the house in some of the most creative and exciting places and positions. I mean, seriously…an elf cooking, pooping and doing mischievously little things around the house?
Why?
Why must you make this so much work for the rest of us?
We started with this cute little elf that flew in from the North Pole. (This was years ago–when they were still new and many people were unsure of the elf and their shenanigans).
But then, you found out. You started researching this cute elf and you just had to have one.
But your creative self couldn’t just hide the elf like we had been doing all this time.
Oh no, you had to go and get all creative and Pintersty on us.
And now my kids expect their elf to be fun like the neighbors and all of their friends.
I must warn you though, once you burn that little elf it’s just not the same.
What!? Burn the elf? I hear you shrieking. I didn’t do it on purpose—I promise!
You see, those little elves are made of super flammable paper. I bet you didn’t know that, did you?
You might think it’s cute to have him ride on top of the light fixture, and the kids will probably love the little balancing act, but I must warn you….do NOT turn the light on!
It didn’t take long and I could smell the burning. Our poor elf!
It now has a permanent cast.
And since the accident, he’s been a little—shy and not so mischievous.
I’m sure it probably has nothing to do with my lack of enthusiasm to get all creative and Pinteresty with him.
Of course not, he’s just injured and so he sticks to simple hiding places.
Now tell us, where has your elf been hiding? What super awesome tricks and stunts has he/she been up to?
We want to know—really, we do.

That is so funny! We don’t have one. I don’t want to create even more fictional things for my kids to believe in. I have a hard enough time with Santa, but my daughter’s teach has one and she has had a lot of fun watching it move about.
Mandee says
I don’t blame you!

The elf hasn’t been around long enough for me to have had him 40 years ago.
Mandee says
Nope, he sure hasn’t, but many have been enjoying his company the last couple of years. ๐
Celebrate Woman says
We love our Elf! But he has been less creative this year for some reason. We need to really ask him to be more creative in his moves and tricks. He’s still got some time!
Mandee says
He has a little time left! Maybe he can shoot some marshmallows all over the place or do something super creative before he goes back to the North Pole? ๐
Addi says
Ahh! Thanks for the tip! Ours has been on light fixtures!
Mandee says
Yes! Definitely be careful! I was so shocked when our elf caught fire! Can you imagine my poor kids when they saw me TOUCH THE ELF? GASP! It was NOT good!
