Emilia Shades was founded in 2016 by Dominican Republic-born Emília Vásquez, after she felt the need to find a lipstick that could be recommended amongst friends, family, and acquaintances without the allure of a celebrity’s endorsement. Emilia always wanted to buy and use makeup products because they were high-quality and beautiful, not because a famous person is paid to advertise and promote them.
