We were given the Teaching Textbooks web version free to try. All opinions expressed are our own.
A couple of my boys have always just got Math. It just came to them so easily and we never really had to look for supplemental math programs for them. However, a couple of my other boys have struggled with Math. It has come harder to them, and we have had to switch between Math programs, hoping to find the perfect program.
Last year when I was doing my homeschool assessment I was telling our assessor all about the programs we have tried and some of our struggles. She asked if we had given Teaching Textbooks a try yet for math. I had never heard of Teaching Textbooks and didn’t know anything about it. Later that evening I decided to start doing some research on the program. I also started asking other homeschool parents if they had used Teaching Textbooks.
I was surprised at how many other homeschool parents (that I knew) were using Teaching Textbooks and loving it! Why was I just hearing about it?
We signed onto the Teaching Textbooks web version. I figured this would be the easiest for us since we are a busy family and my boys love getting on the computer and iPad anyway. When we first started we only logged in on our laptop and desktop computer, so my boys took turns doing math since we don’t have a computer for each of them. It was no problem, however we have since figured out that we can use the Teaching Textbooks web version on our iPads with the Puffin browser app. This has been great because my older boys love to log into their iPads and complete math, and they don’t even need my help getting them set up anymore! We love the Teaching Textbooks Mobile version!
We are still early in the school year, but after using Teaching Textbooks web version for a few months, I can happily say that it is working very well for us! I feel like this is exactly what we needed for our boys! I love that they continue to go over things before moving on and my boys are not just skipping onto the next subject without fully grasping the concepts.
In just a few months we are already much further ahead than we have been with past programs as far as grasping and retaining what they have learned. I plan to continue to update you on the program and our progress as the year goes.
I also wanted to mention that we are using the Family Plan, which is working out great for us since we have 4 boys using the program. (Can you believe our oldest is in college already!?)
Large Family Discount
The discount works for a family of 4-8 students. You will pay $199.08 for the year and have access to one level per student. Students will only receive access to one level per year.
When you are ready to sign up for Teaching Textbooks you will want to have your children do the placement test. It is important because Teaching Textbooks is not strictly set to grade levels. For example, TT3 would be for an advanced 2nd grader or an average 3rd grader. Taking this placement test will help you figure out what level your child should start with.
