Boy oh boy has it been busy around here!
Last Thursday I went on a field trip with my oldest son. This was my first time as a chaperon and I was pretty excited! My hubby actually took the day off to stay home with the other boys. I had so much fun on the field trip that when I got home I told him he is going to have to take a day off every year so I can chaperon for one of the boys. ๐
We went to a local historical property. You would have thought it would be sort of boring for the kids, but they had some great tour guides and they made it so much fun! I took lots of pics, but don’t want to show the kids faces, so I’m just going to share a few with you…
It rained on Friday and was a very dreary day. It made you really just want to stay in and snuggle up on the couch. That is, until the sun came out and the rainbow appeared! There was actually a double rainbow, but you can’t see it in this pic.
Saturday we threw a 60th birthday party for my father in law. He was SO surprised! We had a really good turn out and I think everyone had a lot of fun. There were a couple of times when I thought something was going to happen to spoil the party, but things always turned around. One example was when I went to pick the cake up and they had NOT made it. I had an idea this was going to happen, although I’m not really sure why. They ended up giving us 2 1/2 sheet cakes instead of the full sheet that we had ordered, but it all worked out in the end.
I took the oldest 2 boys with me shopping today. They finally have their halloween costumes! I can’t wait to post pics of them! They also went to the grocery store with me. I was dreading that a bit because I was not sure how much they would slow me down (I really don’t like doing the grocery shopping and try to get out as fast as I can.) They were really a big help though! They both pushed a shopping cart (they have little carts at Kroger and my 6 year old pushed one of those while my 9 year old pushed the regular cart.) I was able to get so much more having 2 carts, and now I won’t have to make a second trip! When we got to the check out the lady ringing us up commented on how well behaved and well mannered the boys were. I was so proud of them! She said that most kids are running around and begging for everything and they definitely wouldn’t be helping unload stuff and move things around like my boys were. They make their Momma proud! I love my boys…all of them! ๐
