I have been meaning to write this post, however every time I sit down to write it I’m either sidetracked or I realize I have another post that needs my attention even more. I’m not putting it off any longer, so here you have it….
On September 11, 1999 my husband and I took our vows. We just celebrated our 13 year wedding anniversary! Crazy to think about! We have been with one another since a very young age! I can’t even imagine that my children could possibly meet their soul mate within the next few years, but it happened for my husband and I. We have been together for 16 years! It’s crazy to think that it has been THAT long! It really feels like it wasn’t that long ago and we were trying to find unique groomsmen gifts and the perfect flowers and dresses for the bridesmaids.
Our wedding didn’t feel stressful and unorganized, although I’m sure if I had to do it all over today it would probably be just that. I have helped several others plan their weddings and the brides always seem so stressed. I felt like I was pretty collected. I even did all of my bridesmaid’s hair, and my own! You see, we took our close family and friends and we all went to Gatlinburg, TN, where we were married in a cute little white chapel. It was all very planned, but so laid back. It just felt right–so right.
We try to go back every year or so, and the kids love it, however we didn’t make it there this year.

How special that sounds for you and your husband. My hubs and I got married at the courthouse, so we plan to have a real wedding within the next few years. In a way, I feel like we are doing things backwards because we have our six children, we plan to move within the next year or so, and then we will get “remarried” with a real wedding this time. hehe!

My husband and I celebrated 13 years on the 23 of April. We went to the justice of the peace.
Wow! My ex boss’s anniversary was on September 11th in a prior year also. Happy Anniversary. I’m glad there are some positive things to celebrate on that day 🙂
