It was around 9:30 this morning and a tiny bit foggy (most of the heavy fog had already lifted by now). We had just dropped our 4 year old off at preschool and we were on our way home. It was just my husband, our 2 year old and myself in the vehicle and we were having a nice discussion about a property we have our eye on.
It went a little like this…
I’m telling my husband that I think we should make an offer on a property. I’m not going to like the 30 minute drive (one way) 3 times a day throughout the winter and I figure we are going to spend so much in gas (I drive a Suburban) that we might as well invest in a house! My husband is nervous and scared at the same time. He says…”I’m just not sure if we will be able to get back on our feet again.”
Just as those words left his mouth this happened….
There is a large garbage truck with a dumpster on the back (tarp thrown over the dumpster so no trash escapes) in front of us. We are both traveling somewhere between 55-60 mph when all of a sudden something jumps out of the back of the dumpster. It goes soaring into the sky right in front of our vehicle. It rolls on the ground several times and then gets up and walks away!
It was a cat. The cat appeared to have literally fallen from the sky right in front of our vehicle. Why we didn’t run it over is beside me. (Not that I wanted to, but our car just sort of slowed quickly and at the right moment.) We weren’t even jolted or anything, it just slowed and we sat and watched this all take place in total shock and amazement. The fact that the cat just rolled, got up and walked away amazes me! He didn’t even limp –he WALKED away!
It was then that I looked at my husband and said, if that cat can get back on his feet, I think we can!
My husband looked at me and said…”I think I just had a GOD Moment.”
Have you ever had a GOD Moment?
We talk about them often in church. It’s that moment when you know God was there.
