I like to teach my boys about the true meaning of Christmas. I don’t want them to think that Christmas is all about receiving gifts for themselves and that it is nothing more than that. Yes, we buy our boys gifts, however this year we decided to be a part of something bigger, much bigger.
It all started when I received an email to sign up for the RAZ program.
Cepia, the makers of Zhu Zhu Pets wanted to donate FREE toys to those children who are less fortunate all over the world! They were looking for bloggers to go out into their communities to distribute the toys. When I read the email I was excited to say the least! I kept my fingers crossed that we would be chosen, however I really had no idea if that would happen. We decided that this was something we wanted to do with our church. Everyone in the church was interested in helping and if chosen we were going to need all of the help we could get. Little did I know, we were going to need a TON of help!
When chosen I received an email stating that I was chosen and the toys would arrive shortly. So, I sat and waited. I had no idea how many to expect, but sort of figured maybe we would receive a box full. When the email came stating that we may receive several shipments I was shocked! We received a total of 28 boxes of toys! That is huge!
Our church members quickly gathered together and we wrapped all of the gifts in just a couple of hours. Those people are wonderful!
After wrapping all of the gifts (some were accessories and went together with some of the other gifts) we were able to give 3-4 gifts each to a total of about 32 children! Now that is what I call a Christmas miracle!
We will forever be thankful to the RAZ Program and the makers of Cepia for letting us be a part in something so huge! Our community was truly blessed this Christmas season.
The best part was when my 11 year old son told me that delivering those toys made him feel good. All of my boys said that they were happy to see other children were going to have a Merry Christmas.
That makes me happy.
(As stated above, we participated in the RAZ promotion. Cepia provided us with boxes full of free toys to distribute through an organization in our community that helps those less fortunate. This was a wonderful experience that we were more than happy to take part in.)
