Every year at the holidays I’m asked to make Pecan pie. My husband’s grandma always made the pecan pie at every holiday. Actually, she made all of the pies. When she passed we were uncertain who was going to make the pies. Everyone else had a dish they would typically make, however since I was fairly new to the family I didn’t have a dish. That first year I was asked to make Grandma’s pies I was really nervous and afraid that they wouldn’t turn out. To my surprise, the pies turned out great and I have been making them ever since—and not just for my husband’s side, but for all of our holiday get-togethers. I have been named “the pie lady”.
Because Grandma’s Pecan Pie recipe is so easy to make and it is perfect for the holidays I really think you’ll enjoy it.
- 3 Eggs
- 2/3 Cup Sugar
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/3 Cup Butter (melted)
- 1 Cup Chopped Pecans
- 1 Cup Dark Corn Syrup
- Beat eggs slightly, add sugar and salt until dissolved. Stir in dark corn syrup and melted butter, mix well. Pour in pecans.
- Bake at 350° for 50 minutes in a pre-heated oven.

I’m not really sure, however it’s what Grandma used, so it’s what I use. I figured since everyone liked her recipe so much I better not touch it! haha! 🙂
