We have been looking for new things to do together as a family. While we want to spend time together, we don’t want something that’s going to cost a lot of money. Since I’ve been trying to get healthier and in better shape I invited the whole family to come with me on a nature walk. (Calling it a nature walk made the boys WAY more interested).
We ventured out last week for our first walk. It was a nice day (a little hot, but not too bad) and we walked along a path that had trees on both sides and water along the side. We did a full 2 miles our very first time! Not only did the boys keep up, but they didn’t want to stop at the end!
We did stop a couple of times so the boys could try to catch fish with their hands in the water and explore some of the little paths and nature off of the main path. We even stopped to watch a snake (gross, I know!) for a bit.
The next time we ventured out on a nature walk the little boys had me jogging! They were running off and on the whole time! I don’t know how their little legs can do it, but I sure did get a good workout. I love the new family bonding! Not only are we spending time together, but we are getting in shape and it’s so very relaxing…and FREE! (Who says fun has to cost money!?)
Just being in each others’ company can be a great thing!
