When I was first contacted by someone from The Handmade Expo I was a little confused as to what the company was and I wasn’t sure if I was going to write about them. Once I received this detailed email from Lindsay, at The Handmade Expo I was delighted to post something for them!
When asked what The Handmade Expo is all about, Lindsay said…”Essentially it all started when I wanted to blog about all of the awesome stuff I found while spending WAY too much time online in the eventings after the kids were in bed. 🙂
I started a blog, http://www.meantobemama.com and everything was going really well. I was connecting with a lot of moms who work at home and create things…crafty, nifty, handmade things! I was re-introduced to etsy (had seen it a few years earlier, looked around, it was small then…forgot about it) and was HOOKED.”
Lindsay even wrote a post on her blog about why she was hooked to etsy and why she liked to buy handmade.

Lindsay says she had the idea to start up a website similar to one she had seen in the past. She loved the marketing aspect and the suspense and exclusivity of the “invitation-only” shopping websites. Friends inviting friends, deals found ONLY at that website…etc. But, she also liked the idea of helping handmade too…crafters, work at home moms, artists, etc. That is how The Handmade Expo- An Online Artisan Showcase was born: http://TheHandmadeExpo.com.
They will be holding their first event, “Handmade for the Holidays” is being held November 12-13 and shoppers need to RSVP to the event on Facebook for their exclusive invitation to shop.
You really don’t want to miss this as there will be 30 GREAT vendors from the US, Canada and the UK and everyone is SUPER excited!!!
