What do you do when you are unsure of your actions? When you just aren’t sure what is the right thing for you and your family? I pray, and I have been doing a lot of that lately. We have a big decision to make as a family.
As you may remember, I posted asking what you all thought about taking our children out of the religious program they were in. We had switched churches a year ago, however I kept them in this religious program because “I was scared”. That’s right, I admit it. I had been raised one way and knew no different. I was raising my children this way, however I was not teaching them because, to be honest, I didn’t know much about my faith or religious ways. I was only doing what I thought was right for them, but was I really doing anything good for them?
After many prayers and many discussions we decided to take the boys out of this religious program. They are very much more involved in the new church and will be attending a Christian school next year. (Another big decision we made as a family.)
So, what is the new decision?
The house.
We found a house that we absolutely love, however we just don’t know if it’s the right house for us. There are a couple of things holding us back (besides the sale of our investment property as well as our current home). There is a large high voltage electric tower within eyesight of the property. Is it really close? No. But, a couple of family members have voiced their opinions about living next to these towers and believe that they can be harmful. I have spent hours researching this and have talked to so many people. It really is uncertain as to if they are harmful or not. Since it is not on the property or within 300 yards of the property we are thinking that it probably isn’t harmful, but we are still waiting to hear back from some experts.
The other thing is that the home has currently been on the market for almost a year. They did just recently lower the price and there was a contract on it not long ago that didn’t go through, so there has been some interest in the home. My only concern is…if we decide to sell the home down the road would the high voltage power lines stop us from selling the home? We are actually looking for a “forever” home and hope to never have to move again, but you really never know what is going to happen in life, so it always must be considered.
So, now we are praying that things will fall into place and while I want to be patient and I know that God will lead us to where we need to be and when we need to be there, I still worry and stress about it.
What do you do when you are unsure?

I would Pray and search as well. We are going through the same thing we have found a house and I would Love to get it as it has the yard my son needs but my husband wants to stay one more year here in this apartment but it seems like to good a deal to pass up. So I am trying not to push him but everything in me says move and so I am turning it over to God as I know he will help me make the right choice.

You have to trust what your feeling. Change is scary, but if you feel its right, you know it is. Just remember, scary paths lead to beautiful places.
