Have your kids started school? I know most places the kids are back in school now. My kids love summer vacation, and I love having them home with me, but towards the end of summer they always seem to get bored and start thriving for the routine we once had. I love getting back into a routine when school starts. Everything runs so much more smoothly.

When the boys are in school I am always looking for different things to help with learning at home. I have done reviews for Hearthsong in the past and am once again impressed with a product we received from them. We received the Orion Relief Globe. My boys were super excited about this product! They love to come home and play school, and this has been the perfect addition to their home classroom!

They love that the globe has a light, so at night they can use it as a nightlight, or during the day they can turn it on to enhance the features. This globe is very detailed and versatile. It includes geography in fascinating relief as well as national and political boundaries (visible when the globe is unlit), calibrated meridian, time dial, raised equator, and sturdy no-tip base.

When the interior light is on you can see Earth’s geography, including mountains, rivers, and underwater ocean topography.

The only negative about this globe is that my boys did manage to crack the base shortly after receiving the globe. However, it still stands and is not completely broken. What can I say, boys are rough on things! I wish the base was a little bit stronger plastic or made of another material, but this is still a really nice product.
