Our oldest two boys play baseball. Our 2nd oldest (8 year old) finished the season on Wed. Our oldest had a Tournament game on Tuesday and another on Thursday. They won both games, but boy was it hot on Thursday! When driving to the game our vehicle said it was 107 degrees! I considered turning around and going home, but he really wanted to play, so I figured we would drive to the diamond and see if the game was still going…sure enough, it was! Both teams made it and everyone was accounted for. We got lucky and there was a nice breeze the whole game. When we left the game at 8 o’clock it was 98 degrees. Talk about crazy weather! It was just in the 70s at 8 o’clock the other night!
Today is the last of the games. It’s down to 4 teams. Our son will be playing his first game at 6:30. He says he is pretty sure they are playing another team from his school district, which will be neat to watch. We haven’t heard yet who the other two teams are that made it to the finals, but will soon be finding out. If they win the first game they will play a double header and winner takes home the trophy!
I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty excited they made it this far. They had a pretty rocky start to the year and have really improved over the past month.
Do your children get involved in sports?
We think sports are important and love attending our boys’ games.
Once baseball is over, I can’t wait for soccer to start!
