Most diets are hard, right? I think so! As a matter of fact, I always think the first week is the hardest. I often find myself daydreaming about food and even obsessing. I feel like I’m starving and depriving my body. Why do that to yourself? Who knows, but we do! We feel like if we semi-starve our bodies for a bit they will get used to it and it will be easier for us to lose weight. That’s not always true though. Without the right nutrients and care you can really cause your body a lot of harm.
Today is day 5 of my Journey with the Shaklee Cinch Program. Not only do I feel great (I have SO much more energy then I have in months) but I also don’t feel hungry. That’s right! It’s only day 5 and yet I don’t like I’m starving my body and depriving it of what it needs. Why? Because I’m actually following a proven diet program that really works without depriving your body. Ok, I’m not trying to be some sort of sales person here, but when I find something that I like (and if you know me well you are shaking your head right now) I TALK about it and I tell EVERYONE that I know! Why not though? I mean, if I find something that works for me and that I love, why not tell others about it so that they too can enjoy the product or whatever it is that is making me happy?
So, here is a brief view of what my day on the Cinch Inch Loss Program looks like…
Breakfast: I typically have a shake for breakfast. I like to mix things up and sometimes make mine into a smoothie with fresh fruit and fat free milk, however my all time favorite shake is the Cafe Latte Cinch Shake mix (2 scoops) with 1 cup of Fat Free Organic Milk and 1 cup of coffee. I blend that in my little mixer with ice and I enjoy! Talk about a way to start my day off on a good note! No more McDonalds Frappes and Starbucks for me! Not only am I saving money, but I’m staying healthy too! 🙂
I sometimes have a snack between Breakfast and Lunch. This sometimes consists of a fruit or veggie, but I often have a Cinch Snack bar–the Peanutbutter Crunch is my favorite! Yummy!
Lunch: Lunch is a busy time around our house. I often find it hard to sit down for long, so I really enjoy eating a Cinch Meal Replacement Bar. Both flavors are really good, but my favorite has to be the Peanutbutter Chocolate Chip–Yummy! Want my honest opinion of the bars? Because I totally believe in being honest. I think the flavor is great, however they are pretty dry. Guess what though, I love that they are dry. Weird, right? Not really, because it helps me drink the necessary water I need to stay healthy and help me to lose weight. Not so crazy now, right?
I sometimes have a snack between Lunch and Dinner (it just depends on what I’m doing, where I’m at and how I feel.) My snack would be the same as my morning snack, however sometimes when I’m having a craving for something sweet I will make myself an iced coffee. Yes, you heard me right! I LOVE iced coffee and thought in the beginning that there was no way I was going to be able to do this diet if I couldn’t get at least ONE iced coffee in during the day. I’m a firm believer that in order for one to stay on a diet and stay focused, you must treat yourself from time to time. Will it set me back? Maybe a tad, but I can always work it off…right?
Here is my recipe for a low fat iced coffee…
1 cup Organic Fat Free Milk
1 Cup Coffee
1 Tablespoon Coffee House Inspirations Skinny Fat Free White Chocolate Mocha creamer (Or you could use another fat free creamer of your choice. I’m going to try Chocolate Raspberry next week!)
About 6 ice cubes
2 Tablespoons Fat free Reddi Whip (for the top)
Mix the Milk, Coffee, Cream and Ice in a blender–Blend. Top with Reddi Whip and Enjoy!
Calories: About 120
Just to compare a bit, a SMALL Mocha Frappe from McDonalds has about 450 Calories. You are definitely getting more iced coffee with my recipe, and it is a TON healthier–so drink up!
Dinner: Since it is summertime we have been grilling a lot. I have been having Veggie Burgers, Turkey Burgers (Yummy!), Turkey Hot dogs, Veggie and Turkey Wraps, Turkey Lunch Meat on Aunt Millies 35 Cal bread, and other yummy low cal recipes! I will have to start sharing recipes weekly so you all can give them a try!
One of my biggest tips is to season stuff. If you don’t like the way the veggie or turkey burgers taste, try using your favorite grilling seasoning, it really does make a difference.
As for exercise: I have been dancing, doing stretches, walking, jogging, and running after my 5 boys (Hey, I count that–it’s exercise if I’m winded, right?)
