Is There an Elf on Your Shelf?

We welcomed a cute little elf, Billy (the boys chose the name Billy, like Billy the Exterminator- please tell me I’m not the only one that has to watch this show and that you all know what I’m talking about.) into our home last week. We have had so much fun with our little elf. 

For those of you that have never heard of the Elf on the Shelf…

The Elf on the Shelf is a super cute little elf that comes in a box with a story book. The elf has special magic (so the kids shouldn’t touch him because he can lose some of his magic.) Children can talk to the elf and tell him things that they want Santa to know, like what they want for Christmas. Every night when the children go to bed that little elf flies off to the North Pole to visit with Santa and the other elves. Every morning when the children wake up they have a fun new hide-n-seek adventure because the elf hides in a different place every time he returns! 

Now this was not in the book, however we added this…

If the elf is in the same spot that he was the day before then he is just giving the children a second chance to behave a little bit better before he flies back to tell Santa everything he has seen and heard throughout the day. The children really want to behave because the elf tells Santa all! 

We have found our elf in the Christmas tree…

And this morning we found that silly elf in our refrigerator holding a tube of cookie dough! 

I must admit that the Elf on the Shelf is a lot of fun!

This is our new family tradition and we are all excited about it!
