It’s funny how a quick trip to town with 4 boys can end up taking up the whole day. We woke up around 8am this morning, which is actually sleeping in around here. I was so happy that they let me sleep in a little because the baby had me up pretty late last night. I think his teeth were bothering him because once I used the orajel swabs on him and gave him a little bit of Tylenol he was fine. Thank goodness! Anyways, back to what I was saying…I prepared breakfast for all of the boys and after cleaning up all of our breakfast dishes I sat down behind my computer to pay some bills while the boys watched some morning cartoons. (At this point they are still a little mellow because they haven’t been up long, but after about the first cartoon they are off and playing!)My oldest decided to make everyone subs for lunch today (which consisted of a hotdog bun with ham and cheese and mustard or ketchup, and he put banana peppers on mine…yummy!) The boys love to help out in the kitchen! After lunch (oh and we got baths within all of this time as well) we all loaded up and headed to town. It’s really hard getting everyone ready and getting out the door without someone getting mad or forgetting something. We did a pretty good job today though! The boys were excited to get out the door because they wanted to get their Pokemon cards! They had some money from helping out during the week and they were anxious to spend it! I even let my oldest hand the money over and everything. I think it teaches them a lot when they help out and work for some things that they want. They love it too because they bought it themselves!
We went to the bread store first. It is this little bakery and it is barely big enough for a shopping cart, but they have them. So, I load my kids in and around the cart and we make our way through the store. We got a whole cart full of bread for $7! We are going to have to start going there more often!
We make it out of the bread store with no tears and no fighting! Yay! We get to Wal-Mart and the boys are really excited! They picked out a pinata for the birthday party tomorrow as well as a cake and some party supplies. We managed to get out of the store in a little over an hour! Crazy huh? And I just went there for a few things! We manage to only run over a few toes as turning the overflowing cart with groceries and children! (Don’t worry, they were our toes!)
By the time we were done at Wal-Mart I think we were all hot and tired and ready to go home. The boys have been playing so well together since we arrived home. They have a tent set up in the downstairs hallway and are all pretending to camp. It’s SO cute!
I’ll post more about the birthday party and the trip to Chuck E Cheese after the weekend! Thanks so much for following!
More to come on raising my 4 sons! 🙂
