Over a month ago I took my 2nd born son to the doctor. He ran a fever the night before and then had a rash and a sore throat. It’s not uncommon for him to get a rash when he is sick, but I just wanted to make sure everything was okay. My worries were gone when the doc said he had a bug that was going around and would be better in a couple of days. Sure enough, by the third day he was completely fine. No rash, no fever, no sore throat. The bug traveled through our house to the other boys (all but our third born, who never seems to get sick). I also started feeling a sore throat and having cold symptoms the exact same day the 1st in our family caught the bug. The only difference was…it took me 2 full weeks to get over that pesky cold. All of my kids were better in about 3 days.
As soon as the cold started to subside I ended up in the ER with sharp stomach and back pains. Let me back up a bit…The cold ended and a couple days later, on a Friday I started having sharp pains. I waited it out thinking it was nothing and by the following Thursday I was in the ER. The ER doc was certain it was my gall bladder. He even referred me to a surgeon to follow up with. The ultra sound of my gall bladder came back fine, however my symptoms are no better so I made an appointment with my family doc. He ordered a HIDA Scan (to check the function of my gallbladder). The scan isn’t until Saturday, so I’m just sort of waiting it out. He also wrote me a prescription for stronger meds to help with my stomach and indigestion issues. I’ve been taking the meds for about 4 days now with no relief. So, I’m just coping with the uncomfortableness for now and praying that the docs can find something and fix me.
My purpose for this post today is to let you all know why I’ve been such a slacker. While lying on my heating pad, avoiding all of the foods that I love (really, avoiding most foods all together) and trying to come up with words for a blog post, I’ve just not been able to think and I thought I should come forward and confess…I’ve been sick.
Please know that I have not abandoned you all and I will get to the blog and other responsibilities as I can.
Thanks for understanding and for continuing to be loyal readers!

Hope you feel better soon and the doctors can figure out why you are in pain. Good luck!
