Do you let your children play online?

I do, however I am picky about where they play and what they do.

My children know that they are not allowed on a website unless I have first checked it out.

I also prefer websites that teach my children. I don’t just want my kids sitting in front of a computer all day blowing things up and doing other things of this sort.

We were contacted a while back about reviewing a website called JumpStart.

I actually had already heard of this website before we were contacted.
My oldest son was introduced to it by one of his friends and it was one of the websites that passed my approval for them to play on. We however did not have the paid membership to the site.

When we were told that we could review the site and receive a free paid membership my boys jumped for joy (literally!)

We found that are many places to explore once you launch JumpStart.

The first is an area called StoryLand, which is aimed at 3-5 year olds. My 4 year old absolutely LOVES this part of JumpStart! I am amazed at all that he can do (by himself) with this program.

Children can also explore AdventureLand and MarineLand, which are designed for kids in Kindergarten to Second grade. My 6 (almost 7) year old says this is his absolute favorite part of the website. He has a lot of fun doing the different activities.

There is also a section for children in the 3rd to 5th grade called FutureLand.

My 9 (almost 10) year old son, who is getting ready to enter the 5th grade says that this is his favorite part of JumpStart.

There is also the Enchanted Santuary, which is where kids can hatch and raise their own dragons!

My boys have their own dragon and are raising it as we speak!

My boys are very pleased with this website and they sometimes spend a little too much time online. I don’t have a problem with programs that teach my children and that really grab my boys’ attention. However, I do have to kick them off of the computer from time to time and tell them to go run around the yard or something…ha ha!
