It is officially Spring and we couldn’t be happier! With that being said, we live in Ohio and our weather is often quite crazy! I feel like our winter was very mild and now the weather is just trying to figure out what season it really is. One day it’s snowing, the next it’s 60 degrees and the following day it’s raining and cold again! With all of the changes in the weather it’s no wonder we wind up with colds! Not to mention that Spring tends to be one of our worst times for allergies.

As a stay at home (homeschooling) mom, I can’t say that I get sick days or even vacation days, that’s why I have to make sure I keep sickness and allergies at bay—mom can NOT get sick, and if the kids are sick there’s a good chance I might catch it while taking care of them. Now that winter is over and Spring has arrived, we need to make sure we keep allergies under control.

Luckily, Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Allergy is here to help my kiddos feel relief from even their worst allergy symptoms, and get them back outside to play.

Tips on Keeping Allergies Under Control:

  •  Use an air purifier
  •  Keep dust and mold away by vacuuming and dusting often.
  •  Take allergy medicine before your allergies get bad.
  • Avoid being outdoors when it is dry and windy.
  • Avoid gardening and mowing lawn if your allergies act up when doing these things
  • Do not hang your laundry out to dry.
  • Keep windows closed.

A couple of our boys have allergies. While we would love to keep them indoors and away from the things that bother them, it’s just not possible. They are active and want to be out exploring and having fun. We treat their allergies before they get bad and make sure we follow some of the tips above so that their allergies do not take over and cause them to be uncomfortable.

My parents gave me Dimetapp when I was a kid, so I definitely trust is now that I am the mom! It’s all we use.

I’ve been using Dimetapp since forever. My mom gave it to me when I was a kid, and I’ve always given it to my kids, too.

Same! We used it as kids and now our children are using it as well. My mother in law always says that if what your doing isn’t broke then you probably shouldn’t try to fix it. This works for us. 🙂

I love Dimetapp. My doctor recommended it to me when my kids were little, and it’s always done a great job. I’m glad they’ve got a formula for allergies, too. That’s really great!

Allergies are the absolute worst, especially for kids. I do extra linen and towel washing, as well as more frequent dusting, for this exact reason!

I still remember taking Dimetapp as a child. It was also my kids’ pediatrician’s recommended relief for colds. Now that the grandchildren are here, Dimetapp is also our go-to medication for colds and allergies. Tried and tested. Doctor recommended. Mommy approved. 🙂

Give your child plenty of liquids to keep hydrated and help thin out mucus. Water, juice and electrolyte drinks are good choices.

I’m always looking for tips to keep the allergies away. Mine are really bad year round and I am just hoping my baby doesn’t grow up with same type of allergies. If she does though, I’ll be using Dimetapp to keep things in check.
