Keeping my children safe is very important to me. Children are young and vulnerable and yet they are so smart and pick up on things so easily, especially when it comes to technology. I can remember my parents getting their first computer. Somehow my siblings and I were able to quickly figure things out while my parents just sat back and scratched their heads in frustration.

Why could we pick up on these things at such a young age while our parents struggled to learn?

I think (and this is just my opinion), that since we have been introduced to technology at young ages we are more apt to learning and picking up at a quicker pace. It just sort of comes natural to us.

I’ve noticed with my own children that they were able to pick up an iPod, iPad or iPhone and quickly make their way to different apps and programs on the phone. They can make a call and connect to the internet at such a young age that I’m just blown away! It just comes naturally to them.

Now, it may come as a surprise to some, especially those that do not allow their children online, but I actually encourage my children to explore technology. It’s a part of their life, and it’s everywhere. I would hate for them to not know how to run things when they get older. We even do our homeschooling online—and it works out great for us!

With that being said, I’m all for protecting their little eyes, and that is why I’m glad there are apps like OurPact.
