Keeping Your Home Clean… The Easy Way!
Whether you are building a new home or are renovating your existing house, there are a number of steps you can take to make cleaning easier. You may have one child or you may have five, but all kids make messes – and that’s why we love them! To make cleaning your home less of a chore and more of an easy task, talk to your builder about implementing some of these great solutions into your home.
Storage Solutions
Storage space is a problem for most families, because there’s simply never enough of it! A number of project home builders offer house and land packages with inclusions of versatile storage options. Cleaning the bathroom will become a breeze if you simply choose a design with more drawer and cupboard space, for keeping bench tops tidy. Allocate each of your children their own drawer, so they become responsible for keeping their area tidy. A Utility Tower style cupboard in the kitchen is a great way to create more cupboard space, often including pot drawers to help keep your kitchen stay organized.
Outdoor Living
Any mother will tell you that it’s easier to let your kids make a mess in the backyard, than in the middle of your freshly cleaned lounge room. Choose a floor plan that allows you to have a decent sized backyard and easy access to and from the interior of the house. Bi-fold aluminum doors are a great way to give the kids access to the yard, while also providing the benefit of making your living areas larger.
Kid’s Club
We all love that little luxury on holidays, when the kids can go off to kids club and make mess somewhere else. Why not implement a kid’s club room in your own home? Your children are sure to love it and it confines all the cleaning to one room, rather than bits and pieces scattered throughout the entire house! If you have a spare room in your new home, which most families do, transform this space with a collapsible trestle table and some fun activities, so that it can easily be changed back into a spare room when needed.
Flooring Choices
Choosing the right style of flooring can be the difference between hours of scrubbing and a simple sweep of the broom. While carpet is often a favorite choice for bedrooms, families should opt for tiling or timber look flooring for the main areas of traffic in the house. Tiling is great for the bathroom and laundry, as it is easy to clean and provides a resistant surface. Many families prefer the look of wooden floors throughout living areas however, as it often creates a more homely feel. Newly developed timber look flooring provides the illusion of solid hardwood timber floors, without the easily scratched surface and expensive maintainability. Both tiling and timber look flooring options are easy to clean, making them the perfect choice for families.
