We’ve been looking for new crafts to make. It’s super cold here in Ohio and we’ve pretty much used up all of our crafts, and my imagination is starting to fail me. My boys are so active and busy that when cooped up in house for too long, they start to get antsy and well…whiny. When the whining starts, so do the fights…sigh.
In an effort to keep them busy I have been on a mission to find the perfect crafts. I wanted something we hadn’t done before, that way they wouldn’t know what to expect, and it might take a bit of time to complete. A challenge is always a good thing in a house full of boys. If I’ve learned anything while raising a house full of boys it’s that boys like to be challenged and the love to compete.
I was very surprised when told that Family Christian stores carry crafts! I sort of feel like I’ve been missing out of this time! Here I am shopping their site and I never noticed the crafts! I’m going to make an effort to better comb my favorite sites!
So, my boys decided they wanted to make me pot holders! I was thrilled because this is a craft that they can continue to enjoy over and over again—and they have! I was a little surprised that they loved it as much as they did. You know, they are boys and all and initially one might think that something like making pot holders might be considered more of a “girly” craft. I assure you, it is NOT! Boys can and should learn to do simple (yet challenging) crafts like making pot holders and sewing.
Now I have several new pot holders and several proud little boys!
Not only did they make pot holders for me, but they also made Grandma a couple of pot holders!
If you are looking for crafts for your kiddos, don’t be like us and skip over the crafts—check out the great selection at Family Christian!
We can’t wait to do our next craft (Stepping Stones—just in time for Spring!)

What a great idea! Not only was it great for your kids to make, but think about how proud they must have felt giving them to you and their grandparents! Very awesome! These will make great gift ideas this Christmas for the little ones.. Thank you!

My kids love making things with their loom! It is especially great when the weather is too bad to go outside.
