Raising my children right is one of the most important things to me.
We all want what is best for our children, right?
What is it that you want for your children?
I want my children to be humble and care for others. I want them to help one another out and not think twice about it. Getting children involved in charities and other events similar are a wonderful way to start.
Last year at Christmas time we were able to help donate a large amount of toys to a local charity.
We got the boys involved and allowed them to help every step of the way.
When we delivered the toys my oldest son came up to me and told me that it made him feel really good to give to those children less fortunate. He stated that he would like to help others more often.
This really made me feel good and proud. I want this for my children, not just at Christmas time, but all of the time.

We recently singed up for a membership at the Members Unite Project.
Not only can the boys help make a difference in others’ lives, but they can be completely involved from the first step to the last step.
With a Members Unite membership you have the chance to vote for the different projects that you want to make a difference for. The first week you vote for a project. You can debate and leave comments as well so that you can be totally involved, or you can simply vote and wait for the leading votes to be announced.
When the winning projects are announced you get to see first hand how you are helping! This is especially great for children who want to see exactly what they are doing to help out.
It’s so easy and yet so rewarding and gratifying.
You can get involved too!
Simply sign up as a Members Unite Member and you will be on your way to helping others in need!
Our boys chose to put votes in for the project that is Giving the Healing Power of Man’s Best Friend to Wounded Vets. If this project wins they will be able to provide funding to rescue and train two dogs to provide love and support to two veterans and their families. While it doesn’t seem like much, my boys know first hand how the love and companionship of a pet can really put a smile on one’s face. The boys thought that it was important for not only the pet being rescued, but for the vet since they were willing to risk their lives for us. (I have to say that not only are my boys smart, but they sure do make me proud!)
Another project the boys wanted to support is the project that is making Low Income Houses a Home. If this project wins they will purchase and donate 30 front doors for Habitat building projects so that 30 families have a front door to step through into their first homes they can call their own!
As most of you know, we have been renovating a home that we intend to sell soon. The boys have taken a big part in helping us and they stated that they wanted this to be one of the projects they vote for because it is not only important for everyone to have a roof over their heads, but a front door to walk through too.
We would love to know if any of our readers decides to sign up!
Be sure to let us know if you sign up as a Members Unite Member.
(Disclaimer: We were compensated for taking part in this campaign, however we do feel that charitable programs are a great way to help out and all words written are true.)
