Kids do really say the darnedest things!
My 4 year old comes up to me the other day and says…
“Mommy, your belly is getting really big! Do you think you might explode soon?”
Silly Boy!
The boys brought book orders home from school the other day and I was a little disappointed to see how many electronic games there were in there! The boys were wanting Wii and DS games and could care less about all of the great books that were in the flier.
I know that the school needs to make money and that some of the proceeds go to the school, but I just wish they didn’t have to have so many games in their orders. I guess I would understand if they were educational games, but they are not.
Before you ask, yes I gave in and ordered ONE Wii game for the boys in addition to the books that we were already ordering. I don’t mind ordering a game every now and then, but I do want my boys to want and like to read. It seems that a lot of kids do nothing but play video and computer games these days and I don’t want that to be my kids! (Don’t get me wrong, a little is fine. We love our Wii and have great family fun competing in different sports events and so forth on the Wii.)
A little update on each of the boys…
Our oldest (9 years old) is doing well in school. He is at that mouthy age, but is so stinking smart and really does make some good points sometimes. I guess he is our little debater! It doesn’t matter what we say, he has to debate! It’s good that his little brain is constantly working and he is always coming up with these creative ways to do things.
Our 6 year old is our little sports boy. He loves anything that has to do with sports. This year will be his first year actually playing a sport. He was so excited that he is now old enough to play baseball!
I can’t wait to sit in the stands and cheer him on!
Our 4 year old is our silly boy!
He is always trying to make us laugh and never fails to do so. This little guy is always asking questions about everything and sometimes they are some really interesting questions. I just love this age!
Our almost 2 year old…where do I begin? he he
He definitely keeps me on my toes! He is very lovey and always likes to give me hugs and kisses, which I love, but he knows just the right moment to do so! Whenever he knows he is about to get in trouble he will cock his head sideways a bit and say “I’m cute!”
How can you punish that? I mean, it is and he is cute!
He is our climber (of course all of the boys were!)
They are all little dare devils, and are always trying stunts that Mommy would never approve of when I’m not looking!
I am always saying that if there was a big red button labeled “Do not Push” and there was a little boy in front of it he would look at it and think, “I wonder why I’m not supposed to push it? I wonder what would happen if I do?” and then the curiosity would kill him until he finally pushed it just to see what would happen!
Do you have a little boy like this?
They are so very curious and I think it’s great, but sometimes that curiosity does tend to get them into trouble, or even worse…hurt.
I love my boys!
We have so much fun together, and I wouldn’t trade any of them for the world!
More to come on Raising My 4 Sons…
