The Make-A-Wish program grants the wish of a child that is diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories. The program strives to help those struggling and suffering and they want to change the lives of the kids they serve! It truly is a beautiful thing!
Each year the Make-A-Wish in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana provide approximately 3,500 airline tickets (that’s the equivalent of 180 million airline miles) to help local children and their families reach incredible travel destinations. (It’s all about putting a smile on the face of a child). More than 75% of the wishes made require air travel, which can be rather costly. But, you can help!
How Can I Help Make-A-Wish Grant Wishes?
They have set a goal to raise 2 million airline miles through this year’s Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Air Miles Drive, in addition to monetary donations (so, if you don’t have air miles to donate, you can still help by making a small monetary donations—Putting a smile on the face of a child is priceless).
How Do I Donate to Make-A-Wish?
Donating your miles is a simple and easy way to make a donation and help make a difference in the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions. To donate simply follow one of the options below.
- Call 1-877-206-9474 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 14th
- Donate online at oki.wish.org/content/air-miles-drive.
Make-A-Wish accepts Delta and United Airlines frequent flier miles. The minimum donation is only 500 miles for United and 1,000 miles for Delta.
If you don’t have miles to donate, don’t worry! Cash donations are accepted as well. Donations help Make-A-Wish cover the cost of wish expenses from travel to rental cars and medical equipment.
Won’t you help these children forget about their illness and put a smile on their face for a short time?

Make a wish organization is so awesome! I donate to them when I can. They have helped so many people in my town.

I agree! We have done the walks to help out as well! It’s a great way to help raise money for local chapters. We know several families that have had wishes granted. The smiles are worth it all! 🙂
