-Castelvetrano Olives- These are the hottest olives to hit restaurants and olive bars! Bright green and boasting a mellow, buttery and nutty flavor unlike any other variety, Castelvetrano olives are winning over even non-olive fans. The Sicilian imports are great for cooking, snacking and entertaining. Only 20 calories with 2 grams of fat and zero carbs per serving! (I knew you would like that bit of info.)

-Artichoke Parmesan Marinara- This pasta sauce has been added to Mezzetta’s popular Napa Valley Bistro Pasta Sauce family. The Artichoke Parmesan Marinara is robust but tender and loaded with locally-grown artichokes that add a surprise depth to the sauce. 

-Gourmet Deli Peppers- Mezzetta’s newest line of roasted and caramelized all-natural peppers that are set to raise the standards of sandwich making. Specific varieties include:

Mezzetta products are America’s favorite brand of peppers, olives and specialty foods. At Mezzetta you not only get flavor and convenience, but you also get a great quality product. Ingredients are selected from the best sources and then prepared and packed from Napa Valley.

Now that you know a little more about Mezzetta I must tell you about the products that we received and reviewed. We received a jar of Castelvetrano Whole Green Olives. The description of these olives is that these are memorable, yet hard-to-find olives from Castelvetrano, Sicily. They have a bright green hue and a meaty, buttery flesh. Just the right amount of salt without any bitterness. 

What did we think of the Castelvetrano Whole Green Olives?

If I’m going to be completely honest I must say that I love my olives and this was just different for me. I felt like it left a really weird after-taste and that it just wasn’t the taste I was hoping for. Not my favorite, however would probably be really good when using to cook with. 

We also received a jar of Bleu Cheese Stuffed Olives.

I’m not going to lie to you, I really really dislike bleu cheese, so I didn’t even want to taste these olives. I had one of the boys take a bite and he said, “yucky Mommy.” However, he is a picky little boy and olives are definitely an acquired taste. My Mom did like these, and she’s not a fan of Bleu Cheese normally.

The description of the Bleu Cheese Stuffed Olives is that they are superior jumbo green olives that are hand-filled. The savory, creamy filling has the zing of blue cheese which can perfectly compliment the saltiness and texture of the olive.

We also received a jar of Italian Garden Vegetables. 

Description…

A combination of garden fresh cauliflower, carrots, onions, zucchini, squash, red bell pepper, sea salt and freshly chopped parsley. 

I thought these were a bit tart to eat right out of the jar, however I think they would be great used when cooking.

The last product we tried was the Napa Valley Bistro Marinara Pasta Sauce. 

Wine is added to enhance taste to the pasta sauce. 

We thought the pasta sauce had a very unique taste. You could taste all of the different flavors and ingredients in each bite. We felt like we were eating in an Italian restaurant, only without leaving our home! The sauce was great!
