Mommy, When is God’s Birthday?

(I have been pretty random with my posts lately. These pics don’t really have anything to do with my post today, but I wanted to post a couple of pics of our youngest all bundled up and ready to go outside and play in the snow. He was sick when the other boys went out to play in the snow, so I didn’t get to post any pics of him then.)

I sit here in silence listening to nothing but the soft hum of my fireplace off in the background a little quiet snore from my youngest. Ah life is great right now! If only I could have more of this peaceful quiet time.
You’re telling me to shut up already, aren’t you? I can hear you, and I’ll oblige.

It was a bit of a hectic morning here. I did manage to get a little housework done, which doesn’t make me feel quite so bad about sitting here in front of my laptop enjoying the peace and quiet when I still have more housework to do.

My 4 year old asked me today…”Mommy, When is God’s birthday? I already know when Jesus’s birthday is, but when is God’s birthday?”
I’m sometimes left speechless for a few minutes when they ask me questions like this because I’m just so surprised their little minds have come up with such a question and that they were sitting quietly thinking about this.

We are in the process of remodeling the attic. My husband recently took a new position at work which will allow him to work from home from time to time, but he will need it to be quiet. Let’s face it…no matter how big your house is with 4 boys the house is never quiet! So, we are moving him as far away from the noise as possible and he is taking residence in the attic while working.

I could tell you a lot of stories about our house, but that would probably take quiet some time. I’ll just tell you that we bought a house that was my Mother’s home and my Grandmother’s before that. My mother was raised here. The house has been in our family for over 30 years and we wanted to keep it that way. This particular house is actually registered as a historic home. We love all of the history behind it.

There is a cross hanging in the attic with Jesus hanging on it. It has always been there. With the remodeling going on the boys have noticed the cross and have begun to ask questions about it. I think this is what got my 4 year old thinking.

On another note… (Baby related)
I have been told that girls tend to be smaller than boys (not always true, but this is what some say.)
How big were all of your babies? If you have boys and girls were the girls smaller?

My children were…
1st= 8lbs 13.8oz
2nd= 8lbs 11oz
3rd= 9lbs 15oz
4th= 9lbs 5oz

Hoping this baby isn’t bigger than the last 2!
