I am pretty excited about being able to write an article that other Moms are going to read, and that might even help someone in the end. I have breastfed all of my children up to and past 1 year of age.
Actually, my first was the only one that I quit nursing at 1 year and that was pretty much because I thought you nursed to 1 year and then you quit. I didn’t really realize we could keep doing it!
Sounds silly, right? Maybe a little, but I was young and I didn’t know a lot about breast feeding.
My other 3 boys I nursed to 17 and 18 months each. I actually quit nursing them all because I was pregnant with another. If you ever need help weaning I highly recommend the “band-aid method” and would be happy to email or explain this method to anyone interested! (My boys were only night time nursers when I weaned them this way.)
Anyways, back to my article…breastfeeding is not easy! I didn’t realize how hard it was until I actually tried it myself. I envy those women that say their babies come out, latch right on and just take to the nursing! Mine did no such thing! I have experienced Mastitis, bloody and cracked nipples, and so much pain and crying. However, I was determined to make it work for me and my babies.
I would love to have you all read my article and let me know what you think.
