We just thought this was awesome, so we are sharing it with you as well.
The “Ouchies for Others” program gives 100% of profits from the sale of this unique line of bandages to various not-for-profit organizations. All profits from the sale of the “Fight Against Pediatric Cancer” bandages will benefit three national pediatric cancer organizations: The Childhood Leukemia Foundation, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer and the American Childhood Cancer Organization.
Ouchies Bandages held a contest amongst kids to find a design for their new line, Ouchies for Others.
Sammy Smith of Sandusky, Ohio was selected as the winner of the “Ouchies for Others” Pediatric Cancer Bandage Art Contest. Sammy will now have the opportunity to see her original design made into an Ouchies bandage, which will be available nationwide beginning this summer. How exciting for Sammy! There will be 5 children’s designs being featured in the new line of Ouchies bandages called “Fight Against Pediatric Cancer”. The profits from sales of these unique bandages will be going to three children’s cancer organizations. Not only will Sammy get to see her design transformed into a product to be carried in actual retail stores across the country, but she will also receive a special Ouchies prize basket as well.
A little more about the winner, Sammy…
Sammy is a 13 year old female who was diagnosed with cancer in May. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy to treat her illness. Sammy remains positive by continuing her schoolwork via Skype and utilizing creative outlets while in treatment.
Sammy’s winning entry is titled “You’re Almost There.” She has three more treatments to complete out of 17 and she wants to remind herself and others to “just remember that every time you get a poke or surgery that you are one step closer! That’s what keeps me going!”
