It’s been a while since I have updated on our transition into the new home. The move went very well and we are thoroughly enjoying the space. While we do have a bit less space on the main level of the home, we have a full basement, which we have all intentions of finishing and we also have over 1.5 acres of land! That’s right, we have land!!!! When you have 5 busy boys, it’s always nice to have a place for them to RUN!
Our paint colors are coming together nicely and the furniture I had from the old house fits and looks wonderful in my new living room. While we downsized in bedrooms, we went from 5 to 3—(Yikes, I know!), we gained living space. We have a second living room on the main level, however it’s quite large and we have yet to purchase furniture for this room. I plan to have a little fun with the furniture in that room, but I just can’t seem to choose between the wide range of colorful sofas on the market.
On another note, we have finally finished up all of the work at our old house. No, it has not yet sold, however we have decided to remove it from the market. We are exhausted and physically and emotionally drained and I feel we just need a break. What the plan is for this house, I have no idea, but we are just going to keep the faith that it will soon sell and our worries will be over.
In the meantime we will continue to enjoy our s’mores, catch dandelions in nets, take walks–through tunnels, wave to cows, get flowers delivered to the office (my Mother’s day gift) and tour Dominos (fun Field Trip). It’s been a busy couple of months, but we have had so much fun and are making great memories!
Do you have big plans for the summer?
My boys are anxious for school to let out, and to tell you the truth, I can’t wait to sleep in!

Everybody’s projects have me itching to do something in my house! I bet you will love the extra living space. We have big travel plans this Summer, to California, Omaha and Texas (not all at once LOL).
I am glad you are in your new house and have gained living space. It is worth the downsize in bedrooms.
It sounds like the space gained (I would love a basement) is worth fewer bedrooms. Having outdoor space is definitely important when you have kids!
Glad the move is going well! It’s always hard to readjust to a new home for the first little bit. We have traveling plans for the summer, starting with Memorial Day weekend. We’re pretty excited. Lots of travel to see family, and visiting zoos and just enjoying what is around our area.

Our big plans for the summer is to keep the kids busy having fun during the week, and prepare for baby by doing all kinds of remodeling projects on the weekends. 16 weeks to go…yikes!!!
