We have pretty much been remodeling our house since we moved into it. Actually we started remodeling before we ever even moved in. You will have that when you buy a house that is over 100 years old! We love the size of the house, the character to the house, and the fact that the house has been in the family for over 30 years. My Grandmother (my mother’s mother) lived in the house for over 30 years. When she decided that the house was to large for her she sold it to my mother and step father. When my step father passed away only a couple of years later my mother decided that the house was going to be a lot of work for her, so she sold it to us.
We were really questioning ourselves and wondering what we had gotten ourselves into in the beginning, but as we are remodeling and things are coming together we are really enjoying the new house, the renovations and making it our own. We have changed everything from the stairs, walls, flooring, lighting and anything in between. While it has been a ton of work it has also been fun seeing everything transform.
One of the things that I have spent a lot of time deciding on is our lighting. I guess you could say that I’m a little picky when it comes to my lights. I feel like the lights really say a lot of room and they can make a huge difference.
I thought it might be fun to share a few of our new lights with you all.
This is in our downstairs hallway. I absolutely love these chandeliers. We have one at each end of the hallway.
These are the lights on each end of the upstairs hallway. Love these as well!
A quick glimpse of my new kitchen ceiling! (I know you all have been waiting for before and after pics and they are coming soon!!! This photo was before the beams and trim were finished, and it really doesn’t do the lighting justice.) I still want to get some nice pendant lighting to put above my kitchen sink, but the kitchen is coming along nicely.
Do you spend a lot of time making decisions on anything specific in your house? I have to say that lighting and wall colors take me a while to decide on.
What about you?
