A few weeks ago we took a little weekend getaway/vacation. It was nice to get away for a couple of days, and the boys had a blast!
We were given the opportunity to visit a couple different destinations in the Cincinnati, OH/Kentucky area. While Cincinnati is very busy, there are a ton of things to do there. One of our favorite parts about our stay was that we had the opportunity to stay in a hotel right on the river. We all spent a ton of our time just sitting by the window watching boats go by. It was so relaxing.
Embassy Suites was kind enough to allow us to stay in a 2-room suite on the 7th floor, overlooking the Ohio River.
From the moment we entered the facility we knew we were in for a treat. The people at check-in were super polite and very easy to work with. The lobby was huge and it had sort of an outside feel with a waterfall and a very nice sitting area. The day we left there was even a large parrot in a cage in the lobby. Our boys loved that!
Riding in the elevator was even fun as it had glass walls so you could view the lovely lobby on your way up and down. But what impressed me the most was what was waiting for us in our room. Not only did Embassy Suites go above and beyond, but they had our whole family in mind. Most hotels we have visited are nice, however they don’t feel real “kid friendly.” Embassy Suites had everyone in our family in mind.
There were white and chocolate milks, small sprites and other sodas and waters in the refrigerator (it was stocked!) On the counter in the mini kitchen was a basket full of fruits and other goodies and in the bedroom with the double beds (the room the boys slept in) there were stuffed animals, coloring books and crayons and even more goodies for the boys to eat! But wait, it doesn’t end there, there was even a small popcorn container by the tv in the living room with popcorn and m&ms. Our boys loved this!
Sitting on the dining room table was a personalized note for us with a nice drinking cup, coffee cup and a reusable grocery bag. Next to all of this were tickets for free transportation for us to visit the town!
Talk about going above and beyond!
We received a phone call from the main desk to make sure everything was to our liking and that we weren’t in need of anything.
After settling in, we went down to the pool for a while. The pool area was very nice as was the hot tub. I didn’t have a chance to visit the workout room, but think it is definitely an added bonus for any hotel.
In the morning we went downstairs for a cook-to-order breakfast. I will admit that the line was really long, so we ended up eating the food that was prepared and ready to go, however it was delicious and we were able to go through the line over and over at our leisure. When you have 5 growing boys to feed it’s always nice when you can go through the line more than once!
In the evenings the hotel has nightly Manager’s Reception with complimentary appetizers and beverages.
We have visited many hotels and I honestly can not say that we have ever been to another that treated us as well as we were treated at the Embassy Suites hotel we visited.
Since we are not able to take a long vacation this year we are very much considering taking another short/weekend vacation as a family and we will definitely be looking for the closest Embassy Suites wherever we may go!
You can find Embassy Suites on Facebook and Twitter and stay up to date on any specials they might run.
What about you, have you ever stayed in an Embassy Suites hotel?
How was your experience?

Don’t you just love being pampered? I don’t think I have ever gotten to stay at Embassy Suites, but it sounds like you had a great time.
I have already been following you in a couple of ways, but I am now following you via pinterest as well!

I lived in Cincinnati for a while and it’s such a beautiful place! Were you able to attend any of the fun events down by the river? I found your blog on the Mommy Blog hop and am looking forward to more!

We didn’t actually visit any of the events. We went to EnterTrainMent Junction and Creation Museum (reviews coming soon) and after that we were tuckered and checked into our hotel. The hotel was so nice we didn’t leave it the whole night! We did have fun down by the pool though and watching the boats was amazing! Are you still in Ohio Tracy?

When we make our final move next week to NH, we will be staying at an Embassy Suites while we wait for the delivery of our household goods to our new home. Glad to know it’s a family friendly place to stay ๐

The room looks so spacious and comfy. Also the class elevator is SO cool. I’ve never been one anything like that before.

that place truly seems to be ‘kid friendly’ – love the view from the window!

It was! We had such a good time! The kids keep asking when they can go back and watch the boats! My photos really don’t do it justice!
