Wow, what a busy weekend! I’m actually glad it’s Monday for once. I feel a sigh of relief to just be able to sit around for a bit and relax. We hadn’t planned on having a busy weekend, but somehow it just sort of ended up that way.
On Friday we visited with the in-laws for a while. Well, my family visited with them while I went and did a photo shoot. Here is a pic of the kids I took at the photo shoot. These are not my kids, but I do have permission to share them. ๐
Saturday afternoon my cousin and her children came over and I did another photo shoot. I think we got some really good pics!
On Sunday I had so much to do, however I did manage to make cookies with the boys. We made little pumpkin shaped cookies as well as little ghosts. The boys loved them! It was a lot of fun! ๐ Daddy stayed home with the boys for a few hours while I attended a baby shower. (What fun it was shopping for a little baby girl!) While at the shower I stepped off of a curb in my wedge shoes (that aren’t practical, but sure are cute!) and I completely rolled my ankle and fell on the ground! How embarassing! It still hurts, and I’m babying it quite a bit, but I don’t think it’s anything more than a little sprain or something along those lines. I was so surprised when I got home and saw that hubby and the boys cleaned the house while I was gone! Talk about cheer Mommy up! How sweet of them! They were actually out playing football in the yard when I got home. I love watching them catch and throw the ball. They get so into the game! ๐
This morning I woke up to my 4 year old laying next to me with his head practically under my body. He couldn’t seem to get close enough to me. I love when they want to cuddle! ๐ My ankle was hurting quite a bit, so I had hubby carry the baby down the stairs for me. Coffee was on and everyone was in a good mood. Shortly after my hubby left for work I was in the kitchen getting the boys breakfast when I noticed a vehicle going really slow down the road. It kept stopping and then going again. I thought this was a little suspicious, so I kept watching. Eventually it got to our neighbor’s lane and pulled off to the side of the lane. Not long after the vehicle pulled over a sheriff car pulled up and turned it’s lights on. Now I’m really wondering what is going on, but I can’t tell because it’s still dark out. They were walking up and down the road, looking in the ditches and corn field and taking pics. I was a bit worried that something might be going on. However, when it started to get a little brighter out I noticed the neighbors mail boxes were gone. When it was time for my oldest to get on the bus the sheriff and truck were both gone, but the neighbors were nice enough to come over and explain to me had happened. Apparently, a young girl wrecked her car around 1:30am. She veered off of the road, went into the cornfield, came out, hit a utility box as well as the neighbors mailboxes, went off the other side of the road (missed our house and then skidded the other neighbors mailboxes on the other side of us. How scary! Thankfully she is ok! The boys were all excited this morning when they saw the sheriff car in front of the house with the lights on. It was funny listening to them come up with different scenarios as to why they thought the sheriff car was in front of the house.
