As you all know the last few weeks have been quite eventful around here.
For those of you just stopping by I’ll recap the last couple of weeks…
3 weeks ago today I gave birth to my 5th son (very happy moment!)
Just 4 days after returning home from the hospital demolition was started on my kitchen. Walls were tore down, ceiling ripped out, everything was stripped back to the original studs.
The kitchen has since been re-wired, had new plumbing put in, and some moved, has been studded and insulated. We are now ready for drywall, however my husband will be doing this on his own, so I’m a little worried. I have confidence in him, however it is a heave, hard job and I hate to see him go at it alone. I’ll update you on the kitchen as we go along.
I took Baby C in to the doc last Friday for his 2 week check up. He is growing great and doing very well, however MY laundry detergent is breaking him out a bit, so we have been experimenting with new soaps and it does seem to be helping. His soap that we were washing his clothes in seemed fine, however when leaning up against us his face and legs, and anything else exposed was breaking out, so they are thinking it may be my soap.
My washer and dryer are STILL not hooked up. We moved them when we started kitchen demo and they haven’t finished things for me to hook them up. My sweet Mother has been washing our clothes for us and just took all of my cloth diapers to prep them for use! Yay!!! I can’t wait to start using cloth and hopefully over the weekend my hubby will have my washer hooked up so that I can wash those diapers!
As I was saying…Last Friday I took Baby C to the doc. Well, a couple of days later I had to take my 4(almost 5 year old) to the doc because I thought he had Impetigo on his nose. The doc confirmed my belief and gave me some cream for it. After 1 use it looked so much better and after a few days it is almost gone! Yay! However, while we were there the doc did say that she would like to refer him to an Orthopedic specialist because his feet turn in really bad when he walks or sits or anything of that nature and he trips a lot due to this.
I will keep you all updated on that.
A few days later I was calling to make another doctor’s appointment, but this time it was for ME!
I had a feeling I was coming down with Mastitis, but I was really hoping it wasn’t the case. I dealt with the pain for a couple of days, but when the fever came on I called the doc. After only a couple of days of antibiotics I am feeling so much better! I am still having breast pain, however it is not near what it was in the beginning. Baby is nursing a ton, so that is helping.
My 2 year old has decided that he is a big boy and needs to do things on his own all of a sudden. It’s great….sometimes. Here is an example of when it is NOT so great…
Yesterday 2 year old C decided he had to go to the bathroom, however he didn’t tell me. I was nursing the baby and thought he was still in the playroom playing with his legos.
After not hearing from him for a bit I decided to go in and check on him. He wasn’t in the playroom. I didn’t think anything of it because he could have very well gone into the other room to play with his brothers, so I went into the other room to check on him and he wasn’t in there. As I was walking past the bathroom I smelled STINKY, so I stopped and cautiously opened the door. Boy was I surprised at what I was looking at! He had pretty much painted my bathroom with Poopy! Yep, he had pooped in the potty alright, but somehow he had managed to get poopy all over the seat, the wall, the top of the potty, the little loo foot stool in front of the potty, the floor and even the bathroom door! All this, and all over himself! Boy was I disgusted! I was really wishing Daddy had been home so I could quickly start nursing the baby and Daddy would have to clean it up…hehe!
Well guess what? Later that night the little stinker did the SAME thing and Daddy DID have to clean it up! Crazy little man! I love that he is trying to be independent and go by himself, but how the heck is he making such a MESS!?
I make it a point to always know exactly where he is at at all times now. ๐
Are you ready for Back-to-School?
I finally got all of the boys school supplies. I need to go through their closets this week to see what all we have and what we need. I did however order some clothes online for them and they have all arrived, so I’m feeling a little more ready.
I am going to have a 5th grader, 1st grader, and one in Pre-K!
I think the days that all 3 are in school will be the days I do my grocery shopping! ๐
More to come on Raising My 5 Sons…
